Lameness & Purchase Exams:

HEHC performs a comprehensive physical exam and soundness evaluation including radiographs, blood tests and other diagnostic tests as indicated. Indoor areas with an arena for examination under saddle allow for complete exams regardless of weather conditions.

Preventative Health Programs:

HEHC will work with you to formulate an effective vaccination, deworming, and health program.

Digital Radiography:

HEHC utilizes the Scan X CR processor and Metron software to provide nearly instantaneous radiographic results in the clinic or on the farm.

Power Dental Equipment:

HEHC has two complete sets of dental equipment for the routine care of your horse's teeth. That includes Powerfloat, headstand, lighted speculum, and a set of hand tools.

Reproductive Services:

With ultrasound, pregnancy detection and checking for twins can be done as early as 15 days post ovulation. HEHC can also diagnose and treat reproductive problems as well as evaluate and breed mares with cooled, shipped semen. (*Please note at this time HEHC does not handle frozen semen.)

Diagnostic Ultrasound:

Diagnostic ultrasound is used to scan soft tissues such as tendons, ligaments, muscles and even eyes.

Endoscopy:

HEHC utilizes a 1 meter, 9.5mm fiberoptic endoscope to view the nasal cavities, throat, larynx, guttural pouches and trachea to evaluate function and disease.

Soft-Tissue Surgery:

HEHC can safely perform many surgeries, including cryosurgery, whether performed standing with sedation or recumbent with injectable general anesthesia.

Overnight Lab Service:

HEHC uses Idexx Reference Labs to process blood samples. They have a wide array of diagnostic tests available. When samples are mailed by 6pm, the results from most routine lab work will be available the next morning.

Hospitalization:

HEHC has 5 stalls available for temporary or overnight hospitalization for breeding services, medical colic treatment, wound management, and other situations where more intensive treatment is required.
